Patient Quotes

“I use the app every morning and I think it’s really important to do this to make sure I’m looking after myself. I have since connected my Blood Pressure device to my account and measure this, along with my weight every day. The app is a reminder that I have to look after myself and I have lost nearly two stone in the last six months so doing this has become helpful.

When I look back and see how better controlled everything is, it’s good to see my efforts are going in the right direction. I can see my blood pressure better controlled as it’s less high than last month. This morning I weighed myself and could see on the app it was the lowest I’d been! I know in a few days I’ll be lower again- that’s a highlight. If I didn’t have the app I wouldn’t see the history. I like seeing how well I’ve done in such a short period of time.”

“I could see a big improvement in my fitness and weight after the second Cardiac Rehab course I did compared to the first course after I had come out of hospital. I find the activity diary helpful for recording my activities and I use it every time I go to the gym for step counting, weight and any exercise I’ve done.

When you are making an effort to put the details in everyday, it is always at the forefront of your mind. It makes you think “I need to make this change” or “I did this quite well.” So I can see myself continuing to use the app. My next appointment is in six months time and I will keep adding to it, to be able to look back and show the progress I’ve made.”

The app enables me to see patterns and is a modern way of keeping track. I certainly feel more confident in managing my asthma, as previously I was waiting for appointments or using the internet to ask questions and find the answers.

The app has changed the way I understand and manage my condition day to day. Things like seeing the prompts to take my inhaler if I am coughing would serve as a good reminder for people who don’t know what to do if things have changed allowing them to build habits.

The app has given me a lot of information that I didn’t already have to help me feel more confident to manage my asthma. I found the education section really helpful, learning things I didn’t know before. Its handy to have the information at my fingertips- if I need to know anything I go on my app and its quite quick to find out. I prefer the app to looking online as it was recommended by my clinical team, so I know its trusted, rather than searching on the internet and going down a rabbit hole.

I’ve made progress since using the app, in particular taking inhalers regularly. This means my asthma is more stable and I can see this on the peak flow graph within the app. It makes me think “that is quite a good read” or “come on, you need to be doing something and seeking help”. It gives me the confidence to know everything is ok.
